Newcastle Hunter Mummas are Mel Sargeant and Bec Tansey, both Mums and Novocastrians, passionate about bringing you the best Newcastle and the Hunter has to offer for NHMs.
Bec started the NHM Facebook Support Group when she was told she couldn’t join a mother’s group with her third child. She’d just moved to Newcastle and wanted to make ‘Mum Friends’ and connect with other Mummas. The group now consists of over 13K Newcastle Hunter Mummas passionate about helping each other and celebrating the joys of motherhood as well as supporting mums during tough times.
Mel is a radio broadcaster with over 10 years experience working for Nova and Austereo Networks and more recently New Fm Newcastle. She decided to do something more purposeful with her career after having her kids and feeling like no one was talking to her as a mother when she listened to radio. She decided to create NHM- I GOT IT FROM MY MUMMA PODCAST alongside beautiful all knowing Mumma Bec and loves working with her.
When Mel isn’t working on the show or the NHM brand she loves to pretend a bomb hasn’t gone off in the house and have a coffee while her babies climb on her. She also owns a Yoga studio and loves even more than teaching to practice yoga. She works for New Fm too popping up on air and creating creative promotions.
When Bec isn’t working on NHM she has a day job during school hours but it doesn’t impact her being the most incredible mother. Bec’s entire life revolves around her two boys and her beautiful daughter. She loves spending time with them on their acreage chasing after chickens, patting her pet rescue cat and enjoying a wine with friends.
Our Podcast is released weekly on our Radio Show Page, the New Fm website or through Apple Podcasts and Spotify. It covers everything #Mumlife and we aim to bring you the most exciting and relevant #Mumlife experiences to win in Newcastle, the Hunter and beyond.
